Certification guide
HMC (Halal Monitoring Committee) is one of the UK's more rigorous halal certification bodies, requiring non-stunned slaughter and full supply chain verification. Being straight with you: we haven't yet independently confirmed any Birmingham restaurant as HMC-certified specifically — most of our listed restaurants describe themselves simply as "halal" without specifying which certification body they use.
We're reaching out to restaurants directly to confirm their certification body. If you run a restaurant with genuine HMC certification, or know of one in Birmingham, get in touch — we'll verify and list it here.
If HMC certification specifically matters to you (rather than halal status generally), your safest options are the national chains and specific restaurants known to display HMC certificates in-store — worth confirming directly by asking to see the certificate on your visit, since displayed halal signage doesn't always specify which certifying body issued it.
